While guidelines are provided by each school, there are many strategies that can greatly improve your chances of getting accepted if you are a foreigh student. The best way to learn about these little known tactics is to work with someone who not only successfully completed a U.S. graduate program, but who also served on graduate school admissions committes as well.
These lessons will be individualized for each specific student based on how soon they will be applying, their background, and their English speaking and writing skills levels. There are many potential areas that could be covered based on the needs of the student. Some of these include:
