Stress and Coping: Learn How to Control Your Anxiety

Learn coping techniques from a Ph.D. in Psychology, for when you are having trouble keeping your anxiety under control.

Anxiety is one of the most common mental health problems that people suffer from worldwide. It may be due to worries about something specific such as speaking in public, doing well in school, or finding a job or it may be more general where you feel anxious about a lot of things.  People who feel anxiety and or nervous often also have other problems as well such as sleeplessness, lack of concentration, depression, panic attacks, racing thoughts, headaches, stomach aches or other physical symptoms.  Anxiety can sometimes be serious enought that it gets in the way of your ability to function in one or more areas of your life such as your relationships or home life or you may be able to function fine but are still suffering from the symtpoms of your anxiety.

The good news is that no matter what symptoms you may be experiencing, anxiety is manageable, and there are a number of techniques that counselors can provide to help you with the impact your anxiety has on your life. This session will include a basic assessment of your anxiety and recommendations will be provided for techniques to use to decrease your anxiety and decrease strategies you may have used that weren't effective such as avoidance).
