In this class today we're going to learn about simple past tense. This is one of the most important tenses to learn english for beginners. The method that I use is very fun, we're going to read together, I'm going to explain the materials deeper, provide some small games and fun. I will let the you have your space to express yourself and practice for conversation in english to improve the pronunciation.

Simple past tense is used for expressing something that happened in the past with specific time that the action has already finished. We use this tense everyday in our daily conversation. for example when we want to ask someone about what happened today
Simple past tense is divided by 2. Action verbs and To be
Simple past tense for action verbs, there are two type of verbs. Regular and irregular verbs. It's very easy to define. Regular verbs will end with -d, -ed, or -ied. Irregular verbs will have different form from the verb 1
Regular verb examples =
Walk, walked, walked
watch, watched, watched
Irregular verb examples =
See, saw, seen
Eat, ate, eaten
examples for action verbs for simple past tense
1. Positive = we had fun together at the fun fair yesterday
2. Negative = She didn't like the cake because it was too bitter
3. Interogative = Did you go to the cafe last night?
examples for To be simple past tense
1. Positive = They were busy last week due to high orders
2. Negative = I wasn't tired because I slept enough
3. Interogative = Were you at the party last night?

And how to respond to the question? it's easy. Always between "yes" or "no" depending on the situation and followed by the subject + auxiliary + not (if the answer is no)
