Have you ever wondered why cultures separated by thousands of miles share similar stories of floods, heroics, and the stars? In this class, we step beyond the well-known Greek and Roman myths to explore the vast tapestry of world mythology.

As a mythologist and experienced educator, I invite you to join a "Storyteller’s Circle." This isn't a dry history lecture; it is an active exploration. We will dive into the Norse sagas, Egyptian mysteries, Mayan creation myths, and the folklore of the East. We will compare these tales, discuss their modern relevance, and uncover the universal truths hidden within them.

What We Will Cover:

  • The Global Pantheon: An introduction to different mythological systems (Norse, Celtic, Mesopotamian, Aztec, and more).

  • Comparative Mythology: Identifying "The Hero’s Journey" and shared symbols, archetypes, and motifs across diverse cultures.

  • Creatures & Cryptids: A deep dive into the monsters and spirits that haunt global folklore.

  • Myth in Modernity: How these ancient stories influence the movies, games (like Baldur’s Gate), and books we love today.

Skills You Will Develop:

  • Advanced Narrative Ability: Learn to summarize complex plots and describe characters with nuance.
