Bring your own academic writing and work through it with an experienced editor and former PhD researcher. This is a live workshop for improving the language and clarity of your paper while helping you understand the revisions.

We can work on grammar and phrasing, but we can also address logic, paragraph flow, reader expectations, argument clarity, academic tone, abstracts, titles, and the language used to describe evidence and claims.

Suitable materials include:

  • Journal articles and conference papers

  • Abstracts and proposals

  • Thesis or dissertation chapters

  • Personal statements and research statements

  • Grant, fellowship, and application materials

  • Literature reviews and introductions

  • Reviewer responses and cover letters

The lesson is focused on strengthening the English, clarity, and presentation of work you have written yourself.

For a productive session, please upload a focused excerpt in advance—ideally up to 1,000 words for detailed line-by-line work. For longer manuscripts, message me before booking so we can plan an appropriate series of workshops.

When booking, please comment:

  1. Your field and academic level

  2. The type of document and its purpose

  3. Your deadline

  4. What feedback you need most: grammar, phrasing, clarity, structure, argument, or academic tone

  5. The number of words/pages you want to discuss

  6. Please upload the excerpt and, if useful, the assignment brief, journal guidelines, or abstract
