As I tell all my students, Conversational Talk is the best method for building confidence when speaking with a Native Speaker.
Discussion topics should revolve around YOU and what you do daily, whether it's at home or work, and shouldn't be too personal, just what you're comfortable sharing.
It is important to effectively communicate verbally with others. Furthermore, you'll improve your listening skills which will enhance your understanding of what the other person is saying.
