1. Learning Objectives

By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:

✅ Use simple sentences to express feelings (“I feel happy today!”)
✅ Ask and answer questions about feelings (“How do you feel?” “I feel great!”)


2. Materials

  • Flashcards or pictures showing emotions (happy, excited, proud, calm, etc.)

  • Whiteboard and markers (or digital board)

  • Worksheets (matching and coloring activities)

  • Song or short video about feelings (e.g., “If You’re Happy and You Know It”)

  • Emoji cards or puppets


3. Warm-Up 

Activity: “Emotion Faces”

  1. Show pictures or make faces (smiling, excited, calm).

  2. Ask: “What feeling is this?”

  3. Encourage students to copy the faces and say the word together.

🗣️ Teacher says: “Let’s make happy faces! Big smile! That’s happy!”


4. Presentation 

Teach vocabulary:

  • Happy 😊

  • Excited 🤩

  • Proud 😎

  • Calm 😌

  • Loved ❤️

  • Grateful 🙏

Show each flashcard and model pronunciation.
Use gestures and real-life examples:

  • “I feel happy when I play with my friends.”

  • “I feel proud when I do my homework.”

Game: Repeat & Clap – Say a feeling, students repeat and clap once for each syllable.


5. Practice 

Activity 1: Feelings Match-Up
Students match pictures of faces with the correct feeling words on a worksheet.

Activity 2: How Do You Feel Today?
Go around the class asking:
🗣️ “How do you feel today?”
Students answer using the new words. Encourage full sentences:
💬 “I feel excited!” or “I feel calm.”


6. Production 

Activity: Feelings Drawing or Role-Play

  • Option A: Each student draws themselves feeling one of the emotions and writes a short sentence (“I feel happy because I play soccer”).

  • Option B: Role-play – In pairs, students act out short dialogues:

    A: How do you feel today?
    B: I feel proud!


7. Wrap-Up 

  • Review all feelings with flashcards.

  • Quick quiz: “Show me your happy face!” “Who feels excited?”

  • End with the song “If You’re Happy and You Know It” or a short positive chant.


8. Homework (optional)

Draw a picture of something that makes you feel happy, excited, or proud. Write one sentence about it.
