Have you always wanted to play the piano but didn't know where to begin? This lesson is your perfect starting point. Designed for complete beginners, this session requires no prior knowledge—just a curiosity about the instrument. We will build a strong, confident foundation for your musical journey from the ground up.
What You Will Learn:
In this comprehensive introduction, we will demystify the piano in a clear and engaging way.
Our session will cover:

The Instrument Itself: A brief look at the piano's fascinating history, its mechanics, and the differences between modern acoustic and digital models to help you understand the tool you are learning.

The Keyboard Layout: We will navigate the keyboard together, learning note names, intervals, and the essential terminology every pianist needs to know.

Reading Music: You will be introduced to the basics of musical notation, including the treble and bass clefs, note and rest values (whole, half, eighth, dotted), time signatures, and key signatures.

From Page to Performance: If time allows, we will put theory into practice by listening to short piano pieces while following along with the sheet music, connecting the symbols on the page to the sounds you hear and the keys you will press.
This initial discovery session is focused on building knowledge and confidence. You will leave with a clear understanding of how the piano works and how music is written. To support your continued learning, I will provide you with summarized notes from our lesson and copies of all the music we discuss.
