HAPPY EARTH DAY TO EVERYONE!
2011년 4월 23일
Happy Earth Day to everyone, particularly to you folks in the Western Hemisphere =) As for us in the East , well, let's we extend Earth Day, shall we?
Watching the video will be a challenging & thought-provoking to learners and native speakers alike.
Known for his Hitchhiker's Guide series, Douglas Adams was a well-loved author and satirist. When environmental issues are raised in discussions, I often think of what he said, specifically:
"...we talk rather grandly about “saving the world.” We don’t have to save the world–the world’s fine! The world has been through five periods of mass extinction... —the world is big enough to look after itself. What we have to be concerned about, is whether or not the world we live in, will be capable of sustaining us in it."
And with that, happy Earth Day again, may we love Mother Earth & allow her to take care of us. Now go take a walk or ride a bike & bask in the glory of nature. =)
