Hello, I'm Susana, originally from Mexico but living abroad for over 30 years.
I have taught English as a second language and Spanish for many years in international schools such as Shanghai American School, the International School of Stuttgart, and The Montessori in Paris. The large community of Japanese students in these schools allowed me to learn about and deeply appreciate their culture.
With a Bachelor's in Business, a Master's in Marketing, and teaching certifications, I have worked with learners of all ages and backgrounds in Spanish and English. I prepare students for the Cambridge ESL exams as well.
I lived in Manchester in the U.K. for eight years, working in business while also teaching private Spanish lessons. When the pandemic made in-person lessons impossible, we transitioned to online lessons.
Although I initially had to adapt my teaching style, as I am a very active teacher in the classroom, I found that the tools and materials available for online learning are truly remarkable.
I strongly believe in learning a language in a natural way, much like the approach taken in international schools, where children gradually immerse themselves in the English system.
Witnessing students naturally acquiring a language and growing in
confidence is incredibly rewarding.
I look forward to working with the Japanese learning community again.
