I first started teaching English without even realising, at about six years old, as it was a foreign language for my mother and I taught her spelling and corrected her mistakes!  I also interpreted for my grandmothers at a young age as they did not know a single word in each other's language (English and Hebrew).  I grew up with two native languages and lived in different countries so learned other languages, and language learning, teaching and translating has always been a part of my life, and I still love it.  
Having learned five languages well and over ten languages to some extent (and I am currently trying to learn Thai!) I really understand the challenges that you face but also the satisfaction that can come from reaching your goals and improving your communication skills, and I am determined to help you do this! 

I started teaching informally about 15 years ago and over 10 years ago decided to take the CELTA teaching certificate and gained a B grade.  I have been teaching groups and individuals since then, including all levels and ages.  I teach for exam purposes, for business, or just for fun and conversation.  Depending on your reasons for learning English and what you want to achieve, we can design a plan together.  I also teach children. 

 
I use lots of different materials in my lessons such as articles, websites, textbooks, or even text messages!  The focus is always on learning English as it is used in modern life, and I like to teach grammar in the context of authentic materials, to make it more interesting and relevant.  

I have taught the IELTS and other exams, so if that is what you need I can definitely help.  I have a lot of experience with essay/thesis writing after a BA degree in modern languages and MA in translation, so I can help you with essay writing in the lesson and can also offer an essay correction service. 

In addition to English I also teach Hebrew and Spanish, as I speak both fluently, and can also teach French and German for beginners, which I have studied at school and university.  


My interests aside from languages include travel, culture, politics, music, sports and pets.  I love Asia, including the culture, the weather, and the food!, and I am now living in Thailand.
