About me

I am a professional teacher, examiner, and business communication trainer from England. I have 15 years experience at the most prestigious and demanding institutions, including the British Council and Comillas University. My accent is clear, standard English.

Qualifications
  • Trinity DipTESOL (Trinity College London), the highest professional qualification in the industry.
  • Cambridge CELTA (Cambridge University)
  • Cambridge Certificate in Teaching English Online
  • BSc (ECON) Business Economics (University of Wales)

My specialisms are: exam preparation; advanced levels of proficiency (C1-C2); phonology; communication skills and strategies; sociolinguistics and pragmatics; listening skills; Business English

- GBC

- IELTS (I am a trained examiner)

Teaching methodology: personalised; needs based; reflective

My lessons are based on your objectives, needs, and interests.
 
Lessons have a communicative objective. This means you will be able to use your English to achieve a task. And this holistic, communicative approach, means simply studying grammar is not enough. Apart from linguistic competence, we will cover discourse competence (structuring and connecting your ideas), sociolinguistic competence (levels of formality, politeness strategies, influencing, persuading etc), strategic competence (using strategies to maintain clear communication when the situation is difficult), and on top of this, soft skills (building rapport, using your voice effectively, interacting appropriately), all to help successfully achieve your communicative objectives
 
Your learning will also reflective. This means you gaining a better awareness of your needs, progress, and goals, and consequently becoming a better learner and a better communicator.
