Hi there! My name is Juan, Spanish tutor with over four years of experience.
I'm curious about everything and want to understand it all, I also love meeting new people, so that's probably why it is easy for me to engage in conversation about any topic. This is my secret weapon when it comes to teaching ;)
Ah, but I don't teach rules, I teach meaning. Forget about trying to memorize anything, you'll naturally remember everything once it makes sense to you.
Our sessions will be like friendly chats, you won't realize you are learning while you are learning. I describe this as a practical approach to teaching, but formally they call it the Cognitive Approaches to Grammar Teaching, and it usually works ;)
Depending on your level, grammar, pronunciation, and vocabulary exercises will be part of the process. However, these exercises are not the goal, they are merely a means to an end, so we will do them less and less as we advance. And we will create our own exercises with content that is significant to you, rather than random stuff or book-taken material.
I'm convinced that most people who want to learn another language are really looking to connect with a different culture, probably this is your case, and I'm here to help.
