I am Yumi, a professional singer in Scandinavia and have been teaching vocal lessons in Japan and abroad for around 20 years! I give fun and easy-to-understand lessons tailored to each student’s unique personality and skill level, from absolute beginners who want to be able to sing their favourite songs at karaoke, to those aiming to become professional singers, so please feel free to book a lesson without worrying about your current singing skills! I offer lessons to all ages and genders, from children to adults.
For your first lesson, I will ask you to send me the sound source in advance so that I can listen to it before our lesson. This allows me to personalize the lesson for each student as soon as we meet, without wasting a single minute of the precious lesson time that you have purchased.

I have many years of experience teaching abroad to people of various ethnic origins from all over the world. Regardless of the student’s nationality, even as a global level instructor, I have an approachable personality, and my vocal lessons are always friendly, “fun, and easy to understand.”
My lessons are popular for their cheerful and enjoyable atmosphere, which develops the fundamentals and singing skill of each student’s unique personality and vocals. With a little guidance, my students have been able to sing like never before. I will help you improve your vocal skills!
Lesson Features
◆ I teach anyone from beginners to professionals in an easy-to-understand manner, starting with what is most necessary for each student, according to their level and personality. I will teach students how to use their entire body to produce their individual “singing voice” naturally, expand the range of their high and low tones, address their various concerns and goals, and how to enhance their current vocals, singing, and expression even more. I will explain things in a way that is easy to understand. I will teach the you how to do it intuitively, while standing by your side.
This is my classroom where I teaches many students in Sweden.
◆ Anything from Japanese songs, English songs, songs in other languages are welcome. As each of you choose a song of your own liking, such as the songs you like, the songs you enjoy singing, the songs you want to be able to sing better and so on, I will teach you how to use your throat and body to sing, when to hold your breath, how to express your emotions, and how to produce high and low notes where it is difficult to do so, along with other techniques. I can also help you with English pronunciation.
◆ Before the first lesson, I ask students to send an attachment containing a recording of their song, if possible. This allows me to study each student’s song in advance so that I can offer a fully personalized lesson from the very beginning to the end of the lesson. Once I greet my students, I will immediately go into discussion about the student’s strengths, areas that need improvement, and how to improve without wasting a single minute of time.◆ I have a lot of experience instructing students from all ages and genders, from children to seniors.◆ GenresRock, Pop, R&B, Jazz, Gospel, Hard Rock, Metal, etc.

【As an Illustrator】
I also work as an illustrator, and I can handle everything from anime style to realistic-style portraits. My past works includes base design for a famous Japanese band, music videos for a certain visual-kei band, card illustrations for social games, overseas package illustrations, package illustrations in Japan, individual commissions, and so on.
Although my pictures from my vocal lessons may look a bit scary (?!) as I am using my artist pictures and pictures of me singing, I am a very cheerful and kind teacher who is also a mother of a 5-year-old boy.
At Cafetalk, I will teach students how to draw during the lesson by actually having them watch me draw and paint. I also offer lessons for children, so there is a wide range of lessons you can choose from, for both adults and children.
