I'm curious by nature. And it's this aspect of my character that led me to retrain and become an EFL teacher back in 2003; I was previously in construction, so it was a huge change.
I taught English in both Thailand and Vietnam for around 16 years — from 2003 to 2019. And although I supported language learners of all levels and abilities — and taught a range of different types of courses when starting out, I eventually began to specialise in helping professionals use English confidently for work-related purposes. I've also had plenty of experience helping students to prepare for the IELTS exam (academic and general training). I have extensive experience teaching in both a one-to-one setting and with small groups.
I like to keep my teaching sessions relaxed and enjoyable and will never pressure students during a lesson. My classes are built around learners' goals, pace, and interests. I explain things clearly, correct mistakes gently, and help my students become more confident using English. And I combine real conversation with grammar and vocabulary practice, so students are not just learning rules.
I've been working primarily as a freelance content writer for the last several years, but am now in the process of returning to teaching English full time.
When I'm not working on client content or preparing lessons, you'll usually find me with my head in a good book or taking a long stroll in the local park. I'm also a massive football fan!
