Some information about myself:

My name is Violette and I am an experienced language teacher of German and Polish.

I have been living in Germany since 1990. When moving to Germany at the age of 16 I had not known any other language than Polish. In the 25 years since I learned German up to the level of a native speaker. Currently I am living close to Karlsruhe, a city in the beautiful state of Baden-Württemberg, the south-west of Germany.

Before starting my university studies in 2009 I have been working as legal assistant in Germany for almost 10 years.

My academic achievements are:

2013 BA degree in translation (German, Polish, English)

2015 MA degree as a specialised translator for legal and economic texts

Since 2009 language teacher of German and Polish: I have tought individuals and groups (among others University students taking the DaF test and the several levels of Goethe-Zertifikat) at as a freelance teacher at several governmental institutions and at the University of Applied Sciences Zittau/Görlitz.

Some information about my tuition:

My German and Polish is without any dialectal influence and very easy to understand. I have worked successfully with beginners as well as with advanced students whose mother tongue I do not speak. My tuition is based on a broad experience. I have been teaching languages one to one in person since 2009 and since 2011 via skype. You do not need to speak any of the languages I know in order to be learning German or Polish with me. I am experienced in teaching students whos mother tongue I do not speak and who do not speak English at all.

I offer a range of sessions: Grammar, pronunciation, everyday talk, vocabulary, idioms, proofreading etc.

I prepare you for following German exams:

- Goethe Certificate A1 Fit in Deutsch 1,

- Goethe Certificate A2 Fit in Deutsch 2,

- Goethe-Zertifikat B1

- Goethe-Zertifikat B2

- Goethe-Zertifikat C1

- TestDaF

- BULATS Deutsch-Test für den Beruf.

The infrastructure I provide for the lessons is very fast and reliable: newest PC technology, HD video camera, high quality headset, fast broadband internet connection, scaner, Skype, Dropbox and other technologies.

Some information about my approach:

I very much enjoy teaching languages to people of different origins and ages. My students describe me as very patient, friendly and enthusiastic. My attitude is a very positive one.

My focus lies on long term student - teacher relationships. This way I am able to learn to know the needs and personalities of my students and can adjust my learning approach accordingly to increase my students benefit.

Some information about my tuition material:

I use books and other material provided by the hueber publisher house, a publisher house specialized in language learning material for my German lessons. I have books and CD's for different levels (currently from A1 to B2) at home and can provide my students with scans, if they are not able to organize the books. In addition to that I also use freely available online recources, videos and recordings e.g. Deutsche Welle, YouTube.

For my Polish lessons I work with the HURRA!!! Po Polsku books 1, 2 and 3. Each consists of a students book and a work book. In addition to that I also work with the grammar book: DISCOVERING POLISH. A Learner's Grammar: HURRA. All books from the publisher house PROLOG. All available on AMAZON.

In a first step you will be assessed in terms of your language level (level check lesson) and provided with the recommendation to order suitable material fitting your needs.

What we do during the lesson:

Listening exercises, reading, writing and homework are the basic tools I use to teach my students. I am typing everything on skype and can provide the student with the vocabulary introduced to him/her during the lesson. I also use Dropbox for file exchange like homework, listening exercise files (mp3) and work sheets. My teaching method is based on enjoying the tuition whilst discovering the new language.

My motto is: learning languages makes fun!
