Hi there! I'm Teacher Nona from the Philippines. I am fluent in English and Tagalog and I have a Bachelor's Degree in Education from the University of the East, Manila. I also have Certificates from top speech schools in the Philippines. During my teaching stint, I received several awards for being an outstanding Online English Teacher. I have been teaching English to foreign students from beginner to intermediate level. Mostly, my students are Japanese, Koreans and Chinese. I also teach students and adults who are preparing for the IELTS, TOEFL and TOEIC exams.
I love teaching because I want to share my knowledge to other people. I would love to see my students speak the English language correctly and confidently. My teaching style is that I do a lot of conversation exercises during class to improve student's speaking skills. The student will read different articles to assess student's reading comprehension and at the same time have question and answer to practice communication skills. Student will also learn correct sentence construction, proper grammar, pronunciation and intonation. I conduct a student-teacher interaction to fully improve student's speaking and writing skills.
I also teach Tagalog, my native language. I have prepared a special lesson for you to learn Tagalog in a fun and easy way. Students will learn a lot from Philippine Alphabet, to Tagalog grammar, Tagalog words and phrases, commonly used Tagalog expressions, as well as the Philippine History, our rich culture, traditions, Filipino food, festivals, and most especially, the Filipino hospitality.
