Introduction
Hi everyone! My name is Tanya and I’m from the United Kingdom.
I live in Shropshire, which is a very rural county, which means I‘m able to ride my beautiful horse “Ted”, go for long walks and spend most of my days outside. I have had a career in customer services and spent the last 7 years working for a global company called Haulotte UK. I have a degree in administration and have recently completed a TEFL qualification. I used to live and teach English in Japan and will be returning back there soon. This has also meant that I’ve restarted studying Japanese.
Previous teaching experience
· Business English in Japan
· General English to adults and children, in Japan and UK
· Helpdesk English for European call centre. Working with placement interns to prepare them for using English in the European call centre.
· Horse riding instructor
Lessons
I’m able to offer formal, business and informal English lessons.
For formal and business lessons, I would really like you to tell me what your aim is so that I’m able to fulfil your expectations. If it’s a long-term goal, then I would prefer to access your level and devise a custom-made approach, tailored to your specific needs. I will use a variety of teaching techniques including drilling, roleplays, shadowing, and real-life situations.
For informal lessons where anything goes, it’s an unformatted chat, so get a cup of coffee and we will have a varied and interesting conversation, either you pick the topic, or I will.
I have also spent most of my life horse riding and I do love to talk about horses, so if you want me to tell you all about them that’s fine.
Learning a language is a commitment which can be very rewarding, as well as frustrating. I'm able to help you on your journey of language discovery. I’m naturally a slow speaker, I’m patient and I love to laugh, so whatever we are studying I do like to have some fun. Mistakes are part of life, (you should hear my spoken Japanese), so please don’t worry about making them.
I’m able to teach beginner through to advanced, so please get in contact.
