Hello everyone! Welcome to Cafetalk. My name is Brad Rustand. I’m from Canada. I studied literature and linguistics at Simon Fraser University in Burnaby. For the past 20 years I’ve been teaching English in Latin America and the Middle East in both private language schools and universities. In addition to teaching English, I’ve also taught preparation courses for the IELTS and TOEFL exams.

 

I suppose what I like most about teaching is to see a student progress in both competence and confidence. My lessons are flexible ranging from serious practice to relaxed conversation. You, the student, will decide what kind of lesson you prefer. I’ll happily design a lesson for you.

 

I am fully aware that learning a language is a challenging goal. However, this doesn’t mean it has to be painful or scary. I’ll do all I can to make your learning experience pleasant and fun. Perhaps the most important realization for you to keep in mind is that it is alright to make mistakes. Mistakes are fine so long as you learn from them.

 

So relax and learn. I’m looking forward to being your tutor.
