Speak English with confidence for work, study, travel, and everyday life

Hello! My name is Katrina, and I live in Tokyo, Japan.

I help adult learners, university students, and working professionals speak English more naturally and confidently.

I have experience facilitating English conversation sessions for learners with different levels and backgrounds. I also work at an international company in Japan, where I use English and Japanese to communicate with colleagues, clients, and business partners from different countries.

Because of this, my lessons are not only about grammar or textbook English. I can help you practise the English you need in real situations.

My lessons are especially suitable for students who:

  • understand English but feel nervous when speaking
  • want to speak more naturally and clearly
  • need English for work, study, travel, or daily life
  • want to communicate with international colleagues
  • need help organising longer answers
  • want friendly corrections without too much pressure

What makes my lessons different?

I use English in a real international workplace, so I understand the situations where professionals actually need English.

We can practise things such as:

  • introducing yourself at work
  • making small talk with international colleagues
  • joining meetings
  • giving project updates
  • explaining problems or delays
  • asking for clarification
  • sharing your opinion politely
  • preparing for an English interview
  • presenting your ideas clearly

I also have experience in academic research and professional communication, so I can help university students and professionals explain complex ideas in a clear and organised way.

My teaching style

My lessons are friendly, relaxed, practical, and conversation-focused.

You do not need to speak perfectly. My goal is to create a comfortable space where you can speak freely, make mistakes, and improve step by step.

During our lessons, I can help you:

  • build confidence when speaking English
  • express your ideas more naturally
  • learn useful vocabulary and everyday expressions
  • improve pronunciation and fluency
  • organise your answers clearly
  • continue a conversation without running out of things to say
  • practise English for work, interviews, travel, and daily life

I adjust my speaking speed, questions, and explanations to your level.

I can correct you during the conversation or give feedback at the end. Please tell me which style you prefer.

I understand language learners

I am also studying French and continuing to improve my Japanese, so I understand how difficult it can feel when you know what you want to say but cannot find the right words quickly.

It is okay to pause, make mistakes, and try again. These are all normal parts of learning.

My goal is not only to help you improve your English. I want to help you feel more comfortable using English in real life.
