Hello, my name is Leah (リア), and I am very excited to practice English with you! 

♡ You (or your child) WILL make mistakes. We will fix them together!! You (or your child) WILL get better. Studies show that we remember and learn FAR MORE when we make a mistake!!

The good news is that with a patient, non-judgmental, kind native speaker (me!), you will feel more confident and willing to take risks. ♡

♡ Qualifications and Background:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Services (similar to Social Work)
  • Master's degree in Education
  • 15+ years working with children 0-12
  • I have been tutoring on Cafetalk since April 2015
I have taught Math and English at a Junior High school. Many of my students have learning disabilities, speech issues, or were English Language Learners (ELL/ESL). 

Right now I teach adults at a University.

I am from a part of the United States known as the Upper Midwest. I live in Minnesota (north center of a map of the U.S., by Canada).

Yes, it gets VERY cold and snowy here!!

I love video games, knitting, anime, dance games (especially In The Groove [ITG] and DDR [ダンスダンスレボリューション]), yoga, and helping people learn!

Oh, I also dye my hair because I love fun colors.

I have a full arm tattoo of Studio Ghibli [ 株式会社スタジオジブリ] movies. I am very interested in Japanese life and language. I love learning about Japan!
