Taiwanese Mandarin with Bonny
I offer two main types of Chinese courses:
Simplified Chinese (Mandarin): This course is designed based on the Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi (HSK) test syllabus and designated textbooks. The main content includes simplified Chinese characters, Pinyin, grammar, and common Mandarin expressions. This course is ideal if you plan to travel to mainland China for business or study.
Traditional Chinese (Taiwanese Mandarin): This course is designed based on the Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language (TOCFL) test syllabus and designated textbooks. The main content includes traditional Chinese characters, Zhuyin and Pinyin, grammar, and common Taiwanese expressions and terms. This course is ideal if you plan to travel to Taiwan for business or study.
It's important to remember that Chinese is spoken by a vast population across a wide geographical area, and the Chinese used in different regions varies due to local ethnicities, dialects, and historical development. Even though they use the same "Chinese characters," there are still many differences in terms, expressions, and habitual ways of speaking.
I was born and raised in Taiwan, and I currently live in Taichung City. The Chinese I use is a fusion of many dialects and loanwords. My compulsory education and daily life information were all in traditional Chinese. If you are interested in traditional Chinese or the Chinese used by Taiwanese people, you are very welcome to learn Chinese with me.
If you're simply interested in Chinese, want to travel to Taiwan, or make friends, you might consider more casual lessons, such as pronunciation practice, voice chat, text chat, or diary correction. These lessons can be conducted in either simplified or traditional Chinese.
If you're interested in any of these courses, feel free to book a trial lesson (limited to new students' first booking) so we can discuss a learning plan that suits you. Don't worry if you don't speak Chinese yet, we can discuss it in Japanese or English!
