Hello! It's nice to meet you. My name is Aspen (アスペン). I'm an American living in Japan.
Over four years ago, I made the craziest and best decision. I hopped on a plane to chase my dreams in Japan. I was lucky enough to have met the love of my life. Now I'm excited to make Japan my home forever.
I love traveling, baking, playing video games, and reading. We'll have a lot we can talk about!
UPDATE:
December 2023 I'm expecting my first child! ^-^ My last day on Cafetalk will be October 31st. I haven't decided on when I will return to teaching. As of now, I will be limiting the kinds of lessons I teach. I've also removed some lesson packs to prevent students' coupons from expiring before they can finish them. I'm still accepting new students and I am very happy to help with any English requests you may have. Let's have a fun time together while I still have time!
I am passionate about teaching! I graduated from Drury University with a bachelor's degree in education. I was a teacher for four years in America. When I moved to Japan, I taught conversational English at the eikaiwa AEON for a few years. I later worked as an ALT at elementary schools and junior high schools. My nine years of experience have taught me how to work with people of every age and English level.
I believe that learning should be exciting! That's why I want to learn more about you. My lessons will be centered around your personal goals and interests.
Let's focus on output production! I want to help you share your original thoughts and opinions. We'll focus on building longer sentences with more details.
Preparing for a major exam can be stressful. I can help you improve your weak points. To improve your listening skills, we can watch videos and have in-depth discussions about what you heard. To improve your reading skills, we can read an article together and break down the information.

If you message me before class, I will cancel your lesson for free! I understand that problems happen in life. Please let me know as soon as possible and there will be no charge.
For Beginners:
You can learn new vocabulary.
