Hi, I’m Anthony!

I’m from the UK, and I’ve been living in Japan for over 10 years. I’ve taught English for 16+ years, helping students of all levels gain confidence and speak naturally.


I focus on friendly, relaxed lessons tailored to your goals — from daily conversation to business English.

Weekday morning and early-afternoon lessons are available.


Outside teaching

• I practice yoga almost daily

• I play the saxophone (not very well!)
• I like to cook and do most of the cooking in our house

• I bake sourdough bread and pizza from scratch

• My wife and I recently rescued a cat named Short

• I also spent a year running a small dairy farm in Ehime — lots of stories to share!

My Teaching Style


I adapt lessons to your preferences:

• Gently correcting key points during our chat so you notice patterns, or

• Focusing on fluency and sharing notes afterwards to make the most of our time


We can chat about topics you enjoy, prepare for travel, improve your conversation skills, or work on business English. If you’d like, we can also focus on pronunciation—especially stress and intonation—so your English sounds more natural when reading aloud, speaking, or giving presentations.
