    A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Chemo - A Memoir of Getting Cancer - Twice!
    I rarely find the time (or a book that holds my interest), to sit still in one place long enough to read a book, but this book captivated me, right from the start. It touched me in a way, few books could. It's funny and yet heartbreaking at the same time. It made me laugh, it made me smile, it made me tear up. It certainly tugs on the heartstrings, and I'll admit it, it even brought a tear to my eye. There was a lump in my throat on more than one occasion, but it has a happy ending.

    This tells the beginning of the WWII through a teenage girl's perspective. I also like it that we will see how she grows up. It brings up a lot of moral questions, too of the time, which makes me think as well. The writer is really famous (as famous as Magda Szabó) and has several translations of her books in English. :-)
    During the class /campaign, I could also introduce the Hungarian traditional teenage books. It's almost like "Penguin" but we had striped and dotted covers and they were divided by topics / age level. :-)

    初めて見た時、話も挿絵の世界観も新鮮で、小さな子供の頃や、自分はまだ体験しないが身近にいる大人のエピソードが寓話性を持って教訓的に書かれています。今でも時折棚から引っ張り出して読んだりしている一冊です。読む時の年代により感じ方も少し違う、、。何かを気づかせてくれたり、思い出させてくれたり、そんな大事な本です。

    This book is great for story time! The age range for this book is K-3rd grade and includes very useful vocabulary, for example “would could, do not, do, like”, and simple nouns. Some things that are great about Dr. Seuss’s books is that they rhyme and are silly, but also teach valuable lessons too! This book will teach your child to try new foods, and as a fun family activity, you can make eggs with green food coloring, get some ham, and enjoy! At my school, we used to have “Green Eggs and Ham Day” and we would eat green eggs and ham after our teacher read us the book, so maybe you can carry on that tradition at home too!
