As I continued studying foreign languages, I became curious about how foreigners feel when learning Korean. This led me to become a Korean language teacher. I also realized that my native language, Korean, is a very interesting and beautiful language. I majored in Teaching Korean as a Foreign Language at university, and later studied Korean linguistics in graduate school. After completing my master’s degree, I taught Korean for four semesters at a university in Russia and worked for one year at a university in Germany.
Hello! I’m Bora, a veteran Korean teacher with 9 years of experience connecting with students from all over the world. Since 2016, I have taught students from an incredibly diverse range of countries, including the US, the UK, Brazil, China, Taiwan, Russia, Kazakhstan, Australia, and Ukraine! Having experienced everything from the vibrant energy of teenage students to the deep passion of learners in their 60s, I have built a wealth of Korean teaching know-how that allows anyone, regardless of age or nationality, to learn easily and having fun.
I guide students step-by-step from learning how to read Hangeul to basic conversation so that even complete beginners can start learning Korean without any pressure. In particular, I support your understanding by using Japanese to explain the pronunciation and grammar points that Japanese speakers often find challenging. In addition, I offer conversation-focused lessons so that you can use what you learn immediately in real-life situations. The curriculum is structured to help you naturally acquire the expressions you need for daily life, such as ordering at a café, travel conversations, and everyday chat.
