赤いろうそくと人魚 (Akai Rôsoku to Ningyo, The Red Candles and the Mermaid), the famous Japanese tale by Ogawa Mimei was inspired by Andersen’s The Little Mermaid?

Andersen’s influence on literature is everywhere: from Oscar Wilde’s The Fisherman’s Soul to C. S. Lewis’s The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe!
