🎯 Objectives:
By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
Greet each other with "Hello!" and "Hi!"
Say their names using "I'm [Name]."
Respond to "What's your name?" with "I'm [Name]."
Recognize and repeat key vocabulary.
📋 Materials:
Kid’s Box 1 Student’s Book
Flashcards (Hello, Goodbye, names, smiley faces)
Whiteboard and markers
Stickers or stamps (for rewards)
⏰ Lesson Stages:
1. Warm-up (5 minutes)
Greet students individually at the door ("Hello, [Name]!").
Sing a simple Hello song (you can use Kid’s Box audio or YouTube).
Example:
🎶 Hello, hello, how are you?
I’m fine, I’m fine, I hope you are too! 🎶
2. Presentation (10 minutes)
Show flashcards for "Hello," "Hi," and "Goodbye."
Practice greetings as a group:
T: "Hello!" → Ss: "Hello!"
T: "Hi!" → Ss: "Hi!"
Demonstrate simple dialogues:
T: "Hello! I'm Mr./Ms. [Name]. What's your name?"
S: "I'm [Name]."
3. Practice (15 minutes)
Listen and Repeat: Youtube audio listening and have students repeat.
Pair Work: Students practice greeting a partner:
Student A: "Hello! I'm [Name]."
Student B: "Hi! I'm [Name]."
Game: Find Someone
Students walk around greeting 3–4 classmates: "Hello! What's your name?"
4. Production (10 minutes)
Role-Play: Students get to do a roleplay introduction activity.
"Hello! I'm [Name]!"
Drawing Activity: Students draw themselves and write: "Hello! I'm [Name]."
5. Review and Cool-down (5 minutes)
Quick review flashcards.
Sing the Hello song again.
Give stickers to reward good participation.
Student can continue to use the book and move forward.
