Are you on a busy schedule? Even talking a little bit every day helps. This is a short 15 minute lesson! Take it in your break, in the morning before work, or on a day you don't have much time to devote to your English studies.

We can talk freely or decide on a topic before the class. We can also use an article or picture to talk about.

I will write corrections and suggestions for other words in the Skype chat while you speak so as not to interrupt the conversation flow. I can also correct your pronunciation, sentence structure and grammar.

Some ideas:
  • Check in about your day: What were your top three goals this morning? Did you achieve them? If not, what happened? What are your priorities for tomorrow?
  • Family talk: Do you have young children? Tell me about their development, their likes and dislikes, something they did that made you happy today.
  •  Accountability buddy: Do you have a creative or academic goal you're working on? Knitting a sweater, writing a PhD thesis or novel, learning a new musical instrument or other skill: Tell me every day how much time you spent on your project, what is your greatest obstacle or challenge, what went well or made you feel positive.
  • Supportive friendly chat: Vent about your day! How do you feel? What was frustrating or upsetting? Sometimes we don't need advice or solutions, we just need to complain safely so we can move on from an unpleasant experience.
  • Quick coffee date: Meet a friend and catch up quickly and informally. How have you been? What's been happening in your life? How's your family?
  • Pets: I love pets! I have a cat. Tell me about your pets - describe them, tell me about funny or cute things they do, etc.
  • Photos or other images: Bring a photo (or I can pick one) and we can talk about it.
