🧩 Lesson Outline

1. Warm-Up (5 minutes)

Objective: Get students relaxed and talking.

Activity: “What Do You Do Every Morning?”

  • Ask:

    • What time do you wake up?

    • Do you eat breakfast?

    • What do you do after breakfast?

  • Write students’ responses on the board in simple form:
    wake up – brush teeth – eat breakfast – go to work/school – watch TV – sleep.

Transition:

“Today we’ll learn how to talk about our daily routines in English.”


2. Vocabulary Presentation (10 minutes)

Objective: Learn daily routine vocabulary.

Method: Show pictures or flashcards (if possible) while introducing new words.

Practice Pronunciation:
Say each phrase and have students repeat in chorus and individually.

3. Grammar Focus (10 minutes)

Objective: Use the Simple Present Tense for routines.

Explanation (on board):

  • wake up at 7 o’clock.

  • She wakes up at 7 o’clock.

  • go to work at 8.

  • He goes to work at 8.

Rules:
✅ Add -s / -es for he, she, it.
✅ Use don’t / doesn’t for negatives.
✅ Use Do / Does for questions.

Examples:

  • Do you go to school? → Yes, I do. / No, I don’t.

  • Does she watch TV? → Yes, she does. / No, she doesn’t.


4. Guided Practice (10 minutes)

Objective: Practice forming sentences and questions.

Activity 1 – Sentence Match:
Match subjects with activities.

  1. I / She / They

  2. get up / cooks dinner / watch TV

Students make sentences:

  • I get up at 7.

  • She cooks dinner at 6.

  • They watch TV in the evening.

Activity 2 – Question Practice:
Teacher asks, students answer:

  • What time do you wake up?

  • Do you have breakfast every day?

  • Does your friend go to work early?

Encourage short, natural answers.


5. Communicative Practice (10 minutes)

Objective: Use target language in conversation.

Activity – Pair Work: “My Daily Routine” Interview
Students ask each other:

  1. What time do you wake up?

  2. What do you do after breakfast?

  3. What time do you go to work/school?

  4. What do you do in the evening?

  5. What time do you go to bed?

Then report to the class:

“My partner wakes up at 7. She goes to work at 8. She watches TV in the evening and sleeps at 10.”

Optional Extension: Draw or write a short “Daily Routine Chart.”


6. Review & Wrap-Up (5 minutes)

Objective: Reinforce learning and assess comprehension.

Quick Quiz:
Teacher asks and students answer aloud:

  • What do you do in the morning?

  • What time do you go to bed?

  • What does your friend do after work?

Feedback Round:
Ask:

“What new words did you learn today?”
“Which part was easy or difficult?”
