The lesson will focus on improving the student's listening skill by listening to a video from a English speaking film, clip or series.
Kursinhalt
Aim of the lesson: Student will practise and improve their listening skill by watching/listening to a video with native English speakers. The video chosen will depend on the student's level. For beginner level we will watch a children's cartoon, for intermediate leve a clip from a film, and for advanced, a ted talk video. The video will be from British or American native speakers dependent on the student's preference as well.
Task 1: Student will look at the title and the video and will describe what they thinks it means. (for example: Ted talk: The future of the planet)
Task 2: Watch 1 min of the video and then dicuss what the student understood (for example: teacher will ask "What are the two people talking about?" or " Do you understand the expression: to break the ice?"
Task 3: Repeat task 2 every 1 min of the video, with the questions made by the teacher getting more complex and challenging as the video goes on.
Task 4: After the video is finished, the teacher will ask the opinion of the student about the video (did they like it?), and which part of the video was the most difficult to understand, and why.
Follow up (homework for next lesson): The teacher will ask the student to write down new words or expressions they learnt from the video, and that the teacher will test them about these new words or expressions in the next lesson.
