***This class does NOT have a Skype class for discussion. This lesson only includes a detailed proofreading of your summary as well as my suggestions. If you prefer to verbally discuss my corrections and suggestions together, please sign up for the 25 minute Skype class! :)

Out of all language skills, speaking and writing are the most difficult. These skills require that you CREATE language.

 

Writing is a great way to learn English because it allows you to slow down and really think about what you want to communicate. Unlike speaking practice, writing practice allows you to see the language on the paper or computer screen and study the sentence structure and spelling before anyone else sees it.

 

"Swap Notes" is a class for students who want help with their writing skills. You will send me an email (500 words or less) on CafeTalk about anything you want. I will proofread your email by correcting errors in grammar, vocabulary, and syntax. I will also make suggestions for making your ideas sound like those of a native English speaker. Then, I will send you the email with my corrections and suggestions.

 

Remember, you can write about anything you want. Here are some ideas:

 

- What you did that day

- Your weekend plans

- Dream vacation

- Work

- Shopping with your friends

- Goals

- Worries

- Hobbies

- Favorite holiday

- Favorite recipe

- Many more...
