Lesson Plan: ESL Speaking Class (B2 Preparation)
 
**Objective:** 
- Improve students' speaking skills in preparation for the B2 exam.
- Familiarize students with the exam format and practice speaking tasks.
 
**Materials Needed:**
- B2 FCE speaking task examples (from past exams or practice tests)
- Online whiteboard or presentation tool (like Google Slides)
- Timer or clock to keep track of time
 
**Lesson Structure:**
 
1. **Introduction (3 minutes)**
   - Greet students and briefly introduce the lesson objectives.
   - Explain the importance of speaking skills in the B2 exam.
 
2. **Warm-Up Activity (5 minutes)**
   - Engage students with a quick discussion question related to a familiar topic.
   - Example: "What are the advantages of learning a second language?"
 
3. **Presentation of Speaking Task Types (5 minutes)**
   - Show examples of different speaking task types from the B2 exam.
   - Briefly explain the requirements and scoring criteria for each task type.
 
4. **Modeling and Practice (10 minutes)**
   - Model one speaking task type yourself or using a pre-recorded video (2 minutes).
   - Divide students into pairs for a short practice session (8 minutes).
   - Provide brief feedback and guidance during the practice.
 
5. **Focused Practice (5 minutes)**
   - Assign a specific speaking task for students to complete individually.
   - Provide a prompt or topic relevant to B2 exam themes.
 
6. **Wrap-Up and Feedback (2 minutes)**
   - Quickly review key points covered during the lesson.
   - Assign optional homework related to speaking tasks or exam preparation resources.
