Hello! My name is Yasuko.
I’m a native Japanese speaker living in Tokyo.

I’m originally from Fukuoka, and when I was in high school I spent one year in Canada as an exchange student. At that time,I could hardly speak English at first.

My first host mother loved talking, and my host father enjoyed discussing sports and politics. They talked with me every day, and I listened carefully and slowly began to speak.

They never rejected my mistakes. Instead, they naturally corrected my expressions during conversation.

Before I knew it, I was absorbing their English more and more. After one year, I was able to speak much more comfortably.

Looking back, that experience was the best language lesson I have ever had.

That is why in my lessons I value
learning Japanese naturally through conversation.

You don’t need to worry about making mistakes.
We will enjoy conversation together, and I will support you naturally during our talk.

My Background

I’m originally from Fukuoka.

I studied in Canada for one year during high school.

After graduating from university, I moved to Tokyo and worked while traveling to many places in Japan and around the world.

In my late twenties, I began working as a web director and have been involved in many projects with different teams.

I also have experience as a computer instructor and a programming teacher for children.

Currently, I mainly work with professors and students at universities in Tokyo, helping manage and operate university websites. I also manage websites for several companies.

I love intercultural communication, and I never forgot how enjoyable it was to learn a language through real conversation during my study abroad experience. That is why I decided to become a Japanese conversation teacher.

Conversation-based lessons
We will focus on natural conversation rather than textbooks.

Mistakes are welcome
I won’t interrupt your speaking flow. I will help you with natural expressions during conversation.

Natural Japanese
You will learn expressions that Japanese people actually use in daily life. I also try to share subtle nuances and polite Japanese expressions.

Feedback
After each lesson, I will send feedback summarizing useful expressions and natural phrases from our conversation.

English support available
Our lessons are mainly in Japanese, but I can support you in English if necessary.

Finally

This is a new challenge for me, but I truly enjoy meeting people and having meaningful conversations. 

I hope we can have fun conversations together while learning Japanese.
