LuckaM Tutor Profile

Hi, my name is Lucka!

I am an online freelance teacher of Japanese with almost 15 years of experience, mostly teaching beginners and intermediate learners in both Czech and English.
Aside from teaching I enjoy knitting crocheting and spend some of my time helping on a vegetable farm. 

I have a master’s degree in Japanese philology and a JLPT N1 certificate. I am currently looking to branch out into teaching Czech, mainly intermediate and upper-intermediate conversation and/or reading.

In my opinion, one of the most important goals in language learning is to become comfortable with conversation, reading comprehension, and grammar. If you decide to take my class, expect to speak a lot. But don’t worry - we all make mistakes, and it is better to make them in class than later in real-life situations. (^-^)

My teaching style: 
I adopt my style based on students preferences and needs, focusing on the areas that student finds most challenging. Aside form cornversation, I like to work with authentic text form the target language such as news articles or books early on so that the student can get used to target language and not only depend on simplified text.

Personal rules: 
Students are not allowed to record classes.
I prefer to teach the first class with camera on. As for the following calasses with the sudent it is possible to have camera on or off based on students preferences or technical situation. 
Please keep in mind that I have a cat and he occasionally shows himself in front of the camera. 
I welcome student of all ages, as long as they can use computer on their own.

  • More than 24 hours before lesson start time.→ Cancellation is possible at any time.
  • Less than 24 hours before lesson start time.→ The tutor may take a cancellation fee.
  • No-Show→ The tutor may take a cancellation fee.
