⏰ Lesson Stages
1. Warm-up: Quick Chat (5–7 minutes)
Start casually to ease anxiety:
“How was your day?”
“What did you do this week?”
“Anything interesting happening in your life?”
Encourage full answers and follow-up questions.
2. Topic Selection (5 minutes)
Let students choose a topic (or pick one based on level/interest): Examples:
Travel
Food
Weekend plans
Daily routines
Work and jobs
Childhood memories
Technology
Hobbies
Tip: Write 4–5 topics on the board and let students vote.
3. Guided Conversation (15–20 minutes)
Use open-ended questions to get students talking. Examples:
Topic: Travel
Where have you traveled recently?
What’s your favorite city or country?
Do you prefer the beach or the mountains? Why?
Encourage pair or small group discussion.
Teacher listens, takes notes on errors and vocabulary.
4. Vocabulary Boost (5 minutes)
Pause and review:
Write 5–7 useful words or expressions that came up or are needed.
Teach pronunciation, meaning, and example sentence.
Students practice saying them aloud or using them in short phrases.
5. Round 2: Deeper Questions or Roleplay (10–15 minutes)
Take the topic deeper or introduce a light role-play.
Example for Food:
A: You are a restaurant guest.
B: You are a waiter. Take the order.
Or for Jobs:
A: Interviewer
B: Job candidate
Or just ask follow-up questions:
“Why do you like that?”
“What would you do differently?”
6. Feedback & Correction (5–7 minutes)
Highlight common mistakes (grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation).
Ask students to self-correct if possible.
Reinforce useful expressions they used.
7. Cool-down Question (3–5 minutes)
Ask a reflective question to finish:
“What did you enjoy talking about today?”
“What would you like to talk about next time?”
