🎯 Objectives:

Understand and correctly use 10–12 new business-related words and phrases.
Use the new vocabulary in sentences and short dialogues.
Improve fluency and confidence using business terms.
📋 Materials:
Intelligent Business Student’s Book (choose target unit)
Whiteboard and markers
Flashcards or printable word cards (optional)
Word-phrase matching handout (optional)
Audio player (optional, if using listening from book)
⏰ Lesson Stages:
1. Warm-up: Vocabulary Brainstorm (5 minutes)
Write the topic on the board (e.g., "Negotiations", "Marketing", "Companies").
Quick brainstorm:
T: "What words do you know connected to [topic]?"
Students shout words — T writes all suggestions (correct or almost correct).
2. Presentation: Target Words and Phrases (10 minutes)
Pre-select 10–12 target words/phrases from the Intelligent Business book unit.
Example list for Negotiations:
compromise
offer
counter-offer
bargain
reach an agreement
terms and conditions
negotiate
reject
proposal
acceptable/unacceptable
Teach meaning:
Give clear definitions (simple English).
Provide an example sentence.
Pronunciation practice:
Choral drilling, individual drilling.
3. Controlled Practice: Matching and Gap-fill (10 minutes)
Hand out a matching activity (word ↔ meaning) or a gap-fill exercise.
Example:
"When you don't agree immediately, you try to ____." (Answer: compromise)
Check answers together and correct any confusion.
4. Listening Practice (optional, 10 minutes)
Play a short Intelligent Business audio/dialogue where some target words appear.
Students listen and tick the words they hear.
Quick feedback: which phrases were used? In what situation?
5. Speaking Practice: Mini-dialogues (10 minutes)
Pair Work:
Students create mini-conversations using 5–6 of the target words.
Give them a simple situation (e.g., "negotiating a project deadline," "selling a product," "explaining company rules").
Example:
A: "I think we need to reach a compromise."
B: "I agree, but your proposal is not acceptable yet."
Monitor and offer help.
6. Review and Cool-down (5 minutes)
Quick Quiz:
Give a definition → students shout the word.
Example:
T: "It’s when two sides agree halfway." → Ss: "Compromise!"
Student choice:
Students tell you their favorite 2–3 new words and why.
📚 Homework (Optional):
Students choose 5 new words and write their own sentences for homework.
