Hello! I'm Anco, from Osaka, Japan.
I am not a professional Japanese teacher.
I'm a friendly local from Osaka. My lesson is a 25-minute casual chat in easy Japanese. No grammar lectures, no JLPT preparation. Just talking.
I talk with Japanese learners every day
I live in a share house with people from many different countries, and I also run a small guesthouse in an old Osaka townhouse. So I speak with Japanese learners almost every day.
I know how slowly to speak, which words to swap for easier ones, and where people usually get stuck. I learned this from daily life, not from a textbook.
Before this, I worked for nine years as a teacher at a school for children with special needs. Explaining the same thing in many different ways was my daily job.
My lessons are in Japanese only
I speak very little English. When we get stuck, we use text chat and translation apps. I do this at home every day, and it works well.
If you want a teacher who explains grammar in English, I am not the right person. If you want to speak a lot of Japanese, I think we will get along well.
What we can talk about
Osaka, food, travel, anime, daily life. I will bring topic cards, so you don't have to think of something to say.
Two questions at the start of each lesson
1. Do you want me to correct your mistakes every time, or should we just keep talking?
2. Is there anything you would rather not talk about?
I speak standard Japanese during the lesson, and I will teach you a little Osaka dialect at the end.
I have just started on Cafetalk, so I would be very happy to meet you. Let's talk!
